• Requires far less energy to produce and process

• Can be recycled up to seven times without losing performance

What makes Salamander’s offering unique is how they’ve refined and optimised every stage of this process. Up to 50% of the PVC they use is already recycled, and their premium Greta® window line uses 100% recycled PVC — turning old windows into new, with zero compromise on quality or performance.

PVC’s low processing temperature (~200°C) means it consumes significantly less primary energy compared to other materials. Salamander builds on this advantage by:

• Using hydroelectric power to reduce their grid reliance
• Implementing their own on-site sewage treatment and waste systems
• Designing window systems that are easier to disassemble and recycle

In 2021, their main site in Türkheim alone purchased 1,481 tonnes of recycled PVC, preventing an estimated 2,745 tonnes of CO₂ emissions. That’s equivalent to taking hundreds of cars off the road for a year.
