design flexibility | net zero habitat
Make it yours, without losing the performance
Our net zero habitat homes are pre-designed for a reason. Every layout has been carefully modelled and refined so you get a healthy, comfortable, energy-efficient home without starting from a blank page. That keeps quality high, timelines shorter and pricing clearer.
Pre-designed doesn’t mean identical, though. There’s real room to shape each home to your taste and your site — through curated material and colour palettes, a choice of roof styles, and sensible tweaks to the layout. Here’s how.
Exterior Options
We’ve created three considered exterior palettes, so you can choose a look that feels right without having to specify every finish yourself.
Dark & Bold
A striking dark grey cladding with complementary render sections for added texture and interest. Finished with a matching dark roof and window frames, plus warm timber reveals to soften the look and add character. Contemporary and confident.
Light & Fresh
A timeless mix of light grey cladding and render, paired with a light-coloured roof and sleek black window frames. Clean, modern and quietly elegant.
Warm & Natural
Similar to the Light & Fresh palette, but with real timber cladding and accents for a softer, nature-inspired feel that brings warmth and richness to the front of your home.
Interior Options
Inside, three interior palettes carry the same thinking through to your everyday spaces.
Adventurous (Dark Mood)
A rich, moody palette with warm grey walls, dark joinery and tiles, and a terrazzo-look floor. Designed to create a cosy, atmospheric feel with a touch of drama.
Neutral (Light & Airy)
A calming combination of warm whites and soft neutral tones, paired with a natural timber-look floor. Perfect if you love a fresh, light-filled space.
Warm Timber (Natural Feel)
A variation of the Neutral palette, enhanced with additional timber features throughout — bringing in more texture, warmth and a subtle connection to nature.
Every palette is built around our healthy materials approach: low- or no-VOC finishes, reduced formaldehyde, silica-free benchtops and durable, low-toxin selections. Beautiful to live in, and better for the air you breathe.
Roof Options
The roof is one of the easiest ways to change how a home looks and performs — so we’ve built in genuine choice here.
Most of our designs are shown with a flat or gabled roof and no eave. That’s deliberate: a home with no overhang can sit on or close to a boundary, which matters on narrower or tighter blocks. It’s a practical starting point, not the only option.
You can choose from:
- Flat roof — with or without eaves
- Gabled roof — with or without eaves
- Single-pitched (skillion) roof — with eaves
For most designs, all three options are available at no additional cost. Adding eaves is worth considering: they shade windows in summer, help keep the sun off walls and glazing, and give the weather somewhere to go — all of which support comfort and durability.
Small Design Changes
These are pre-designed homes, but they’re not set in stone. Small, sensible adjustments are often possible to help a home suit your family and your site.
Often no extra cost:
- Moving a window along a wall, or swapping a window to another location.
- Minor tweaks that don’t change the structure or the home’s performance.
May involve a small additional charge:
- Larger layout changes, or adjustments that affect the structure, the building envelope or the energy modelling.
Because every change interacts with how the home performs, the best approach is simply to ask. If there’s something you’d like to adjust, please enquire and we’ll let you know what’s possible and whether any cost applies — before you commit to anything.
More options, more visuals — over time
We’re steadily creating new renders so you can see each exterior palette, interior palette and roof style brought to life across our designs. It’s a big job and it’ll take a while, so not every combination is pictured yet.
If you’d like to picture a particular option on a particular home, don’t wait for the render — get in touch and we’ll happily talk it through with you.
