BLACKBURN NORTH – HAMPTON-INSPIRED, LIGHT-FILLED & ENERGY EFFICIENT

Designed by Simone prior to joining reimagined habitat

This energy-efficient home in Blackburn North combines Hampton-inspired warmth with sustainable, high-performance family living, creating a calm and welcoming sanctuary connected closely to its natural surroundings.

Designed with comfort, natural light and functionality at its core, the home balances timeless coastal-inspired aesthetics with thoughtful energy-efficient design principles suited to modern family life.

Large, carefully positioned windows allow abundant natural light to flow throughout the interiors, creating bright and uplifting living spaces while strengthening the home’s connection to the outdoors. The open-plan kitchen, living and dining areas form the heart of the home, designed to support relaxed family living and effortless entertaining. High raked ceilings enhance the sense of openness while bringing softness and character to the central living spaces.

A defining feature of the home is its strong relationship with the surrounding landscape. Large sliding doors open directly to the backyard and established gum trees beyond, allowing nature to become part of the everyday living experience and creating a sense of calm throughout the home.

The residence includes four generously sized bedrooms designed to support comfort, flexibility and long-term family living. The master suite provides a quiet retreat with an ensuite and generous storage, while the remaining bedrooms can comfortably accommodate children, guests or multigenerational living arrangements.

A dedicated study area supports working from home and quiet retreat, while a separate rumpus or second living space adds further flexibility for family life, entertaining or independent living zones.

Sustainability and thermal comfort were carefully considered throughout the design. Features such as hydronic heating, thoughtful cross-ventilation, generous natural light and energy-efficient building principles help maintain a comfortable indoor environment throughout the year.

The result is a warm, light-filled and energy-efficient family home that combines coastal-inspired character with long-term comfort, functionality and connection to nature.
